Nothing wrong with a good southern accent. My favorite southernism: beinghave instead of behaving. Why the hell do we say that??
zan, i used to be so ashamed during my undergrad years, but i learned to love it.
i've ushed southern parlayance for so long, i really don't know alternatives. Like, if you don't say "y'all" what do you say that doesn't sound forced and fake--"you all" sounds horrible to me. and what does "fixin' to" translate as? and why can't i say the "ee" sound at the end of words that end in y or i or double e? it comes out as "eh" or a "short e" sound.
