I'm putting the comments on moderation for the rest of the day. I've gotten my first pseudo-hate comments on some of my Jena posts today.

People's responses on the blogs at MSNBC and CNN are just disgusting.
BTW-
My babies look adorable in their all black!
Elle, I'm honestly crying tonight at all the horrific responses stories about the Six have gotten. It feels too overwhelming and hopeless.
i have been out of it and not heard of this. i haven't left the house in days, but i was/am wearing a black sweater over my nightgown.
They look so handsome! I'm glad you told them why; they need to know what kind of world we're dealing with...

Excellent take on this story here.

First - those are some handsome youngsters. Their faces are 'inviting' - they're sweet.
Second: One of the thing that makes blogging hard for me sometimes is the fact that, sometimes there are topics that I want to talk about, but when bloggers I respect and read regularly cover the same topic much better than I ever could, I think, "Well, since so-and-so already said it..."
You wrote that some time ago and it was something I totally understood. However, I've been reading your blog 'incognito' for quite awhile; commented here and there, but you're one of the few I've seen consistently follow and update this case.

This shit is just ludicrous to me. Although I'm more than sure some comments have been incredibly hateful. I find if akin to a couple of comments I heard while watching CNN yesterday that in talking to 'white folks', they would speak to how integrated the schools and the community was. Uh-huh. So's mine. Perhaps you don’t find it telling; I do, because I think it’s a nice way of saying, ‘why just look where we allow them to go.’
We've been discussing this where I am - Idaho - about the ignorance that passes unchallenged. I've talked to probably 100+ or so people who have been primarily white (about 70%) about this case in the last couple of days, primarily white and the overwhelming consensus: you don't put up something as provocative as a noose in a tree with the historical ramifications and pretend it "don't mean a thing" as one idiot suggested on TV.
I better stop while I'm ahead.
Thankyou for posting about your fam's Virtual Marching. It is much appreciated.
