Essentially...

Well, isn't that all nice? John McCain knows some women are feeling disaffected and betrayed by the Democratic Party and its perceived treatment of Senator Hillary Clinton, so he's gone out and chosen a woman as his running mate.

I have no doubt this was, in part, an effort to appeal to the aforementioned women, many of whom were supporters of Senator Clinton. And his choice to appeal to them was...

A strongly anti-choice (the anti-choice crew is giddy already if that article is any indication), anti-gay rights, perhaps ethically challenged, of-less-experience-than-Barack-Obama (and Barack is woefully unprepared, remember?), apparently popular (which makes Obama mock-worthy) woman.

But... at least she's a woman, right?

Essentialism at its finest.

I think if you could nail down the Republican motto in a single phrase, it would be "we think you're morons."

It's a desperate move and I hope it will not pay off!

Brian, exactly.

kiki be, first, how are you? And I hope it doesn't work either; just b/c repubs think we're morons doesn't mean we are.

Even Mrs. Agitator, who isn't what I'd call a progressive said, "What? he thinks I vote with my ovaries?"

The definition of cynical.

It doesn't get any more transparent than this.

I'm really surprised by the pick, because I can't believe they wouldn't know how OBVIOUS and transparent this pick is. I would think the groups they are "targeting" with this pick (disaffected Hillary supporters, etc) would be insulted by such a pick.

maybe it's part of a secret plot, y'all. i mean, it couldn't be this transparent... could it?

I particularly love the fact that she had the nerve to talk about the 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling and then refer to Hillary as a whiner...she is a collduer, plain and simple. That McCain think that we will be fooled by her is representative of how much respect he gives to women...or rather liberal women.
