He's a Cute Kid and a Good Kid...

Presented with little comment (because I'm more interested in yours) about the nature of media coverage (and, of course, a much broader problem). You only have to watch the first three minutes or so of the first video if you're in a time crunch :-)

vs.

Also, when I heard about Jill and Kevin's wedding entrance, I know I can't be the only person who thought, had they been people of a different... complexion, that probably would've been perceived more like the joke in the first 1:15 of this video:

(i.e. "ghetto")

omg. first, i didn't even know about this. but yah, you are so right, the juxtaposition of these makes the point in it of itself. i can't believe the parents are so nonchalant about it, re teh white kid, like, yah, but you know, he's still good. you *know* that if that grandma would have been like, dude, i didn't even know he wasn't at home, social services would have been knocking. and the dancing thing, yah you are so right. i was looking on youtube to see if there were other dancing down the aisle things, and a quick search didnt find one, but i think they would not have received as much media attention if was a poc wedding, and would have surely been called ghetto or "extreme" or something like that...
