Blogging Historians...

Quinn, Kristen, and anyone else that I'm an un-purposely not mentioning right now...
Progressive Historians wants you! The truncated call from Nonpartisan:
It's my goal to build this site into not just a platform for a few specific writers, but a clearinghouse for the history blogosphere at large. So far, most of our diarists and front-page bloggers have come from the left-wing political blogosphere. They've been excellent contributors and have built this site into what it is today -- one of the fastest-growing history blogs on the Net, with a readership that's tripled over the past four months to three hundred hits and 1,000-2,000 pageviews a day. But there are also a whole lot of just plain history bloggers out there whose writing would fit in wonderfully with the content and mission of this site...

Do you have to give up posting on your own blog to post here? Absolutely not -- cross-posting is welcome and encouraged. Do you have to be liberal or even political as a blogger? No -- non-political pieces are completely welcome here, as are pieces by conservatives (just be aware that you're in for an intellectually-rigorous but polite grilling).
I love the site--I try to crosspost often. Progressive Historians actually inspired my post on becoming a labor historian and how historical interpretations shape my feminism.

So, if you ever get time...

Hi!
Thanks for visiting ... I think I've lost all my loyal, thoughtful readers due to my stagnant blog... ah well.

I'm impressed how you've been able to keep up blogging (both on this and I guess on History blog), while you are writing diss. I find that I adopt this tunnel vision with the diss stuff.

Good luck with revisions... ! I found out today May is the target for me....

but actually, writing here has helped me sort out a lot of my thoughts

THANKS for this -- let me add my personal hope that as many readers as possible respond to this call. Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Thanks for the invite Elle...I may look into it. I'm afraid I'm pretty conservative though, and I've been burned a few too many times in conversations with liberal colleagues. I just want everyone to play nice.... Oh, and also you've inspired me to write a post about why I am a slavery historian. I don't know when I'll actually get around to doing it, but hopefully sometime in the near future.

Hi elle! Thanks for visiting.

I clicked on this history link and found another wonderful diversion, where I'm sure I'll procrastinate often. Thanks!
